Using viruses to treat CANCER!
Scientists these days have solved literally most of our world's problem, even the most complex ones! Today, scientist started using viruses to attack cancerous cells. It seems like a science fiction but this is, in fact, TRUE! They use a kind of virus called oncolytic virus, a genetically modified form of a herpesvirus. They remove the genes that make the virus replicate in differentiated cells. So, it becomes efficient in attacking cancerous cells. The virus attacks the infected cells and starts replicating inside of them. Then they die and produce hundreds of other viruses to attack neighboring cells. The immune system also gets involved in this process. After cancer cells lysis and produces the viruses, they also produce antigens, which triggers our immune system to attack these cells.
