Why the pustule on your nose may kill you?

Have you heard about the dangerous triangle of the face?

Of course, all of you have experienced something like this or at least have seen someone experiencing some doing this thing.

Did you know that squeezing spots in the dangerous triangle of your face would kill you? How?

Let me explain. I will take the answer to 2 levels. The first 1 is for general knowledge for people and the other is for those who enjoy nerdy stuff.

These pustules you squeeze are usually full of bacteria. This is why they are swollen and sometimes painful. Additionally, the liquid you get out after squeezing them is just a mix of bacteria and dead immune and skin cells. Some times when you press the wrong way on these pustules, you may introduce the bacteria to your deep tissue. What would happen? The dangerous triangle is drained by a vein called the facial vein. This facial vein is unfortunately connected to a collection of veins called the cavernous sinus. These veins drain your brain. When the cavernous sinus is infected this is called cavernous sinus syndrome. If you introduce bacteria to your facial vein by incorrectly squeezing these pustules, bacteria can travel from your facial vein to your cavernous sinus and then to the brain and causing brain infection. Not only brain infection but it may also cause blindness because it drains vein from the eye like superior orbital and inferior orbital veins! Be careful, you don’t want to lose your life for this embarrassing pustule.
