COVID-19 Diagnostics

As we know, the number of people dying from COVID 19 is increasing day after another. Firstly, we need to know that the infection itself may not kill you. You can get the infection and then it goes away from you like normal influenza, but why some people die from it?

This is called acute respiratory distress syndrome.
You alveoli normally contain no fluid as in the below picture. They get filled with air then this air diffuses to the blood capillary below. This is called the blood air barrier
The exact mechanism or cause is not completely understood. However, during inflammation, whether it is happening inside the lungs (due to the viral or bacterial infection) or in other organs, the triggering insult to the tissue usually results in an initial release of chemical signals and other inflammatory mediators secreted by local epithelial and endothelial cells. Also, neutrophils and some T-lymphocytes quickly migrate into the inflamed lung tissue and contribute to the amplification of the phenomenon. So, you can conclude this by saying that there is an imbalance between pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines that leads to diffuse damage of the blood air barrier and fluid from capillaries begin to accumulate in the interstitium and inside the alveoli giving the symptoms of acute respiratory distress syndrome. Here is a diagram that illustrates this.
The diffuse damage that happened will impact the lung’s ability to extract oxygen and send it to other organs so this gives the characteristics of the disease such as shortness of breath, rapid breathing, and bluish skin coloration (due to accumulation of deoxygenated blood)

That vaginas are the basis of human life. Not only because without a vagina you wouldn’t have been there, but also because without a vagina, something  else  wouldn’t have been there as well! Let me explain to you what is it. Did you that at some point in your life you had a vagina? yea vagina! For me, this is disturbing but still fascinating! Reproductive organs in human (whether as a male or female) during fetal life is the same. It is an incompletely differentiated vagina that is waiting a signal from your body to differentiate. If you are a male which means that you have XY chromosomes, genes on your Y chromosome will make this incompletely differentiated vagina turn into the male reproductive system. While if you are a female, this vagina will continue to differentiate more and more until it gives the final familiar shape. Take a look!
